Pre-check & FEA first

Fusion-style setup status + Stress check before topology.

Customers like Fusion’s Pre-check because it blocks wasted cloud runs. Exoform’s Study rail shows the same idea: ✓ / ! / ✕ before Queue, plus Check with FEA first (validate static before topology).

How to use Pre-check

  1. Pick Study type, upload geometry, and set file units.
  2. Choose Material, then tag Support + Load (and Preserve/Obstacle as needed).
  3. Read the rail checklist — fix every ✕ before Queue. Warnings (!) are foot-guns (STL, load scale, empty preserve).
  4. On topology types, click Check with FEA first to prove deformation direction, then switch back to Lighten this part or Design in a box.

Good vs bad Pre-check

PRE-CHECKGeometry · closed solid, units mmMaterial · Aluminum 6061-T61 Support · 1 Load (500 N)!STL input — face picks less preciseQueue · 25 cr
Good
Ready to queue (or ready with notes) — the estimate shows on the button.
PRE-CHECKGeometry · closed solid, units mmNo Support tagged — nothing is fixedLoad force is 0 N!Material not chosenQueue locked
Avoid
Missing fixtures/loads. Queue stays locked until every ✕ is fixed.

FEA first

1 · Baseline stress mapping2 · Topology optimization
Good
Stress check first proves the setup: the baseline stress map should match intuition before you spend topology credits.
