What to trust after a solve — and what not to.
Cloud FEA peers (SimScale, Onshape Simulation) stream displacement and von Mises in the browser. Exoform returns field artifacts and printable meshes on the Dashboard — same questions apply.
What to check first
- Does it move the right way? Displacement should follow your load arrow and stay fixed at Supports.
- Order of magnitude — microns vs meters of motion; MPa vs GPa of stress vs your material.
- Topology continuity — no flying blobs disconnected from the load path. Use the Results Density scrub (Density Explorer) to find a connected threshold.
- Bolt pads intact — if holes look skeletal, re-run with a thicker Shell.
Color scale & units
On Result maps, open Von Mises, Displacement, or Deformed. A color bar shows min → max with units (stress in MPa/kPa, displacement in mm/µm). The peak chip next to the toggles is the map maximum. Hover the mesh to read the value at that spot.
What not to over-trust
- Peak stress at sharp CAD corners or tiny paint patches — classic singularity / mesh artifact (SolidWorks docs warn about this).
- A single Draft run as a “certification.” Results are an engineering aid; confirm with qualified review before manufacture.
- Assuming Additive lattices inherit Study stress plots — re-check after lattice ops if decisions depend on it.
Dashboard
Open Dashboard for status, downloads, and reopen. Succeeded jobs keep settings so you can iterate without re-uploading.
